【参考范文】
Some people consider it necessary for senior managers to receive a higher level of pay than ordinary employees in the same corporation. I agree with this idea although a huge income gap can have a negative effect on employees’ job satisfaction.
Paying managers well can improve a company’s productivity as ordinary employees work hard in order to gain a promotion and a pay rise. Money is a strong motivator for most workers, who need a higher income to afford a higher cost of living. They work long hours to complete tasks faster to impress their supervisors, and the extra effort they make is essential to the delivery of high-quality services and products for customers, thereby making the company more profitable.
Another benefit of paying top managers handsomely is that this remuneration policy can attract talented business managers who can harness resources strategically for expansion. Distinguished executives strongly believe that they deserve the high pay they receive in view of their decades of experience and exceptional qualifications. Once they take the position, they can introduce advanced management systems and practices which modernise a company and formulate strategies which can make the optimal use of resources to embrace opportunities and challenges lying ahead.
Despite the justifications for lucrative rewards for management jobs, a company should make sure that management’s salary does not reach the level which can hurt the motivation of employees. Front-line workers, in particular, feel unhappy with income disparity as they think they devote as much time to their work as those in the boardroom. They have resentment against the policy which puts a large proportion of profit in the pockets of the management team. This can interfere with their work and damage the rapport they have with superiors.
